Placing Items on Reserve in the Bruno Library
All materials submitted for course reserves must adhere to the University's copyright policy. For the policy please go to http://www.ua.edu/copyright.html.
Faculty and instructors in the Culverhouse College of Commerce & Business Administration are invited to place materials on reserve for their classes. The materials will be available electronically through the Libraries' Catalog.
Print materials
Books, articles, sample tests, and other print materials can be submitted at the ground floor circulation desk. Please submit a reserve request form along with the materials. Books will be placed on regular reserve and held at the desk. Articles that are available full-text through one of our databases will have a link placed in the reserve record. Other items will be scanned and entered into the electronic reserve system.
If an item has already been scanned and entered into the electronic reserve system for a previous semester, we can reactivate it without re-scanning. If possible, please provide the number noted in the upper right corner of the copy that was returned to you, or simply re-submit that copy.
Electronic materials
Electronic files in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, plain text, and pdf formats can be submitted electronically by emailing the file as an attachment to Donna Minor (dminor@bruno.cba.ua.edu). Please be sure to indicate the course number (e.g., FI 302) in your email. Electronic files will be converted to pdf format in order to reduce file size and make downloads quicker for your students. If the students will be required to use the files in their original format (manipulate the spreadsheet in Excel, fill out a form in Word, etc.), please be sure to let us know so we can leave them in their original format.
We can also provide convenient links to Web sites through our reserve system.
Please note the following:
- Reserve material should be submitted at least two days prior to assignment.
- Reserve material must comply with copyright law.
- All materials will be taken off reserve at the end of the semester.
- The Business Library is not responsible for personal copies put on Reserve.
Questions about placing items on reserve should be directed to Donna Minor, Circulation Supervisor, at 348-1084 or dminor@bruno.cba.ua.edu.
